Due to the award of several new contracts, Gardline Geosciences are expanding their operations in Geotechnical Drilling
Reporting to the Geotechnical Drilling Supervisor, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of offshore heave compensated drilling equipment. This includes running a planned maintenance system, making sure that there are adequate stocks of equipment and parts required for the maintenance system and breakdowns, as well as ensuring that all equipment including lifting and safety equipment is certified and fit for purpose.
You will report any mechanical or maintenance issues to your line manager, along with any safety concerns that may exist in the working environment. You will be expected to work with the designated HSE Advisor to ensure that issues are resolved in line with the company’s high regard for safety and its procedures. It is vital that safety is at the forefront of any work you approach and carry out.
Your contribution to the effective running of projects, the communication of information throughout the department and the positive support to colleagues in your team is vital. You will be required to undertake necessary training and medical testing in accordance with company policies.
The ideal candidate will have relevant industry and offshore experience, be working knowledge of maintaining diesel engines and hydraulic power packs. Experience of working with heave compensated drilling equipment would be beneficial, as would experience with Geotechnical wire line sampling tools and pneumatic control and compressors.
You will be flexible to travel to offshore vessels globally at short notice, adaptable in an ever-changing environment and be able to build constructive relationships with a wide variety of people, as well as contributing to problem-solving and team performance.
