MARINE DRILL RIG GL-75
The GL 75 drill rig is a fully heave compensated drill rig capable of drilling in waterdepths of up to 400 metres. Gardline Geosciences has acquired the rig in January 2008 and has carried out drilling work for the oil and gas and windfarm industry in the North Sea, Irish Sea and of West Africa.

CPT SYSTEMS: GTeC CPT SYSTEM
The Cone Penetration Test is based on pushing an instrumented cone into the ground at a constant speed, with continuous measurement of the cone end resistance, the friction along the sleeve of the cone, and the pore water pressure. The Gtec systems Gardline uses are ROSON cpt systems between 2,5 and 10 tonne weight built up with 1 metre rods in masts or under self tensioning. Depending on soils conditions the rod length can be extended, depths of up to 38 metres have been reached.

NEPTUNE CPT SYSTEMS: NEPTUNE 3000 and NEPTUNE 5000
The Neptune cpt systems use a coiled rod system. This system limits the depth below ground level that can be reached but it is easier to deploy form a variety of vessels.

• Neptune 3000, this system weighs 3 tonnes and has a 10 metre rod. The system uses two and five cm2 cones
• Neptune 5000, this system weighs 5 tonnes and has a 20 metre rod. The system uses five and ten cm2 cones. 

VIBROCORERS
The Vibrocorer is used for taking long cores in compact sediment such as sand and clay.

PISTON CORERS and HIGH POWERED VIBROCORERS
The Piston corer takes between 3 and 8 metres of undisturbed samples from soft and/or muddy sediment.

WIRELINE CPT AND SAMPLING EQUIPMENT
Gardline Geosciences has two wireline cpt systems capable of working into waterdepths up to 600 metres. The wireline CPT can be deployed through its own drill string as well work from third party drill rigs. Work has been carried out of Sakhalin, the German and British sectors of the North Sea, the Mediterranean and West Africa.
